
Webinar, October 13th, 2020, with Family Empowerment of Hadley and Massachusetts Advocates for Children. * This online training will address the transition planning and services required for youth with disabilities between the ages of 14-22.
* The training will focus on both the transition special education services which prepare young people for employment, and independent living and education post high school. Services that students may require when they exit special education and transition to the adult human service system will be discussed.
* Through the use of case examples, parents and professionals will learn strategies that can help students receive important transition services mandated by special education laws.
* Chapter 688, the federal law that helps plan for youth with disabilities after they leave school, will be explained.
* This will be a Zoom meeting and registration is required. When you register, you will have an opportunity to submit questions for the presenter. You will also be able to ask questions via the chat feature during the Zoom meeting. The conversation will be recorded to send to participants after the meeting.
