Worcester, through May 2nd, 2017. For ages 19+ of all abilities. A hands-on program to support healthy lifestyles, implements nutrition, health, and cooking programs for those with disabilities and their caregivers. There will be cooking demonstrations and discussion of nutrition, portion control, and the importance of physical activity. Participants will also taste delicious, low-fat meals, and learn how to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their diet.
* Priority will be given to participants living at home with their families, and in Auburn, Boylston, Holden, Leicester, Paxton, Shrewsbury, W. Boylston & Worcester.
* Healthy Hills is being offered through grant funding provided by Reliant Medical Group Foundation. Each session will have new recipes and nutritional information.
Topics may include:
diet vs regular
food coloring and dyes;
healthy Chinese food
what’s really in chewing gum; and
a closer look at those mystery ingredients in your bagel.
Location: ASPiRE! Training Kitchen, 150 Goddard Memorial Dr., Worcester COST: $40.00/per session* SIGN UP: Session one before, January 24; Session two, before April 4. PLEASE NOTE: Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 people of all abilities. Regular attendance is encouraged. To promote carryover of skills to a home kitchen, it is required that an adult family member, friend, or caregiver participate and support their individual in each class.
