Across Massachusetts – NAMI BASICS – Educational program for parents with special needs children with emotional and behavioral challenges. The National Alliance on Mental Illness MASS offers this free program for parents taught by trained parent volunteer teachers who also have children themselves with difficulties. This is an evidence-based program – neurobiology, problem solving skills, listening and communication skills, accessing services and supports, crisis management, advocacy and caregiver self-care.
